2.The famous M.I room in base camp .Actually it was the research lab of Sir Edmund Hillary during the 1960-61 Ama Dablam expedition and was later gifted to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.

3.Me with the legend Late Kushang Sherpa sir at Frey glacier .Kushang Sherpa sir held a mountaineering record for being the first person to climb Mount Everest from three different routes in 1999. He climbed the mountain's south-east ridge, north-east ridge, and the treacherous Khangdhung Face. He successfully summited Everest a total of five times between 1993 and 2003.

4.Our summit day at Mount Chogyal during my advance course.

The open balcony at the upper section of Namgyal tsemo Gompa , Leh offers us a very calm & quiet environment .In August 2024 I was at Leh for Kang Yatse 2 expedition. Almost everyday I went to visit this Gompa during my acclimatization Jogging. At the upper section this open balcony was my hot favourite place to spend some moments with my soul.

So many peaks are visible from there...Rumbag Kangri , Parcha Kangri , Stok Kangri ,Shuku Kangri ,Kangri Li , Golep Kangri ,Matho Kangri ,Nimaling Kangri ,Hemis ... What a package !

Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangetsar Tso is a high-altitude, scenic lake in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, on the way to Bum La Pass. It was formed by an earthquake and named Madhuri Lake after Madhuri Dixit filmed a song for the movie Koyla there. The lake is a popular tourist destination known for its clear blue waters, surrounding mountains, and partially submerged tree trunks.

Key Features

Location: Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh, India, near the Bum La Pass.

Origin: Formed by a landslide after an earthquake, originally known as Sangetsar Lake.

Popularity: Became widely known as Madhuri Lake after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit shot a song sequence for the movie Koyla there.

Scenery: Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and features dead tree trunks standing in the water, remnants from the earthquake.

Altitude: Located at a high altitude, over 3,708 meters (12,165 ft) above sea level.

Access: A permit is required to visit the area, as it is near the border with China.

Activities and Tips

Best Time to Visit: April to October are the best months for pleasant weather.

Acclimatization: Due to the high altitude, it's recommended to spend a day or two in Tawang to acclimatize before visiting.

Activities: Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty, and there are picnic spots available.

Facilities: An army canteen is available at the site.

Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangetsar Tso is a high-altitude, scenic lake in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, on the way to Bum La Pass. It was formed by an earthquake and named Madhuri Lake after Madhuri Dixit filmed a song for the movie Koyla there. The lake is a popular tourist destination known for its clear blue waters, surrounding mountains, and partially submerged tree trunks.

Acclimatization: Due to the high altitude, it's recommended to spend a day or two in Tawang to acclimatize before visiting.

Activities: Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty, and there are picnic spots available.

Facilities: An army canteen is available at the site.

Never underestimate Himalaya ...it's the ultimate boss.

I faced this blizzard in February 2025 at Kedarkantha.On the summit day we were facing extremely windy weather from the beginning of our summit march.When the first light had touched the ground we were at the final narrow ridge just below the top. The condition was just horrible .Wind factor had made the weather over chilled ( -17 degree) and it was really hard to stand straight in front of that violent wind.

This video was taken when we were descending towards lower camp through the other side from the top.The weather was comparatively calm on that time .so , just imagine how the turbulence was when we were approaching the top !

This is the famous Rockwall on the way to Traill's pass base .This 200 Mtr wall along with the gradient of 75-80 degree is called one of the main challenge of this pass expedition. A regular threatening of rockfall has made it more difficult. It's tricky but not a impossible patch to negotiate.

This is the famous Rockwall on the way to Traill's pass base .This 200 Mtr wall along with the gradient of 75-80 degree is called one of the main challenge of this pass expedition. A regular threatening of rockfall has made it more difficult. It's tricky but not a impossible patch to negotiate.

To make a classic and flavorful Indian mutton curry, you'll slow-cook marinated meat in a rich and aromatic onion-tomato gravy. Using bone-in cuts like shoulder or leg enhances the flavor, and a pressure cooker can significantly shorten the cooking time.

Ingredients

For the marinade:

1.1 lbs (500g) bone-in mutton (or lamb), cut into 2-inch pieces

2 tbsp plain yogurt

¾ tbsp ginger-garlic paste

¾ tsp salt

¼ tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp meat masala or garam masala

½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder (for color)

For the curry:

2 tbsp oil (mustard oil is traditional)

1 inch cinnamon stick

3 green cardamom pods

2-3 cloves

1 bay leaf

1 cup onions, finely chopped

1-2 green chilies, slit (optional)

¾ cup (1 large) tomato, pureed or finely chopped

2 tsp meat masala or garam masala

Hot water for cooking

Salt to taste

1-2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the mutton. In a large bowl, combine the mutton pieces with all the marinade ingredients. Mix thoroughly, cover, and let it rest for at least one hour at room temperature, or overnight in the refrigerator for the best results.

Ingredients

For the marinade:

1.1 lbs (500g) bone-in mutton (or lamb), cut into 2-inch pieces

2 tbsp plain yogurt

¾ tbsp ginger-garlic paste

¾ tsp salt

¼ tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp meat masala or garam masala

½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder (for color)

For the curry:

2 tbsp oil (mustard oil is traditional)

1 inch cinnamon stick

3 green cardamom pods

2-3 cloves

1 bay leaf

1 cup onions, finely chopped

1-2 green chilies, slit (optional)

¾ cup (1 large) tomato, pureed or finely chopped

#THEYYAM
Theyyam is a popular ritual art form of North Malabar in Kerala, predominant in the Kolathunadu area ( consist of present day Kasargod, Kannur Districts, Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad and Vatakara and Koyilandi Taluks of Kozhikode of Kerala) and also in South Canara and Kodagu of Karnataka as a living cult with several thousand- year-old traditions, rituals and customs.

The performer of Theyyam belongs to the lower caste community like Vannan, Malayan, Mavilan, Velan, Munnoottan, Anjunnoottan, Pulayar, Kopalar and others. There are more than 400 forms of Theyyam each being unique in style, music, choreography, make-up, costumes, etc. Face paintings for different forms of theyyam has only a slight difference. Performers get their bodies painted with bright colours in varying designs and patterns from top to toe.

In some forms of Theyyam, the costume is made of coconut leaves, painting are done with a paste of rice and turmeric powder. Head dresses are made of different materials including bamboo sticks, wooden boards, peacock feathers, coconut leaves and flowers. Those representing Goddesses or female diety wear breast plates made of wood, bronze or silver adorned with ornaments and studded with gems
It is also believed that the mortal bodies of performers become one with immortal spirits and mythical figures to perform ritual dances and caste a trance over onlookers.

The season of Theyyam Festival is from December to April.
